The Mummy's Hand

Why?

My mom had watched this movie and demanded that I watch it by pitching a quote from my sister. "The Mummy's Hand walked so that the Mummy could run." That had me sold.

What in the world?

An archaeological expedition leads to the discovery of a living mummy that just wants to watch the world end.

Personal thoughts

This movie was crazy. At the beginning, I thought Dave was kind of an idiot about the world. I just didn't know why he was there because I thought that he was just a friend of the main guy, Steve. He is also an archaeologist and that changed how I saw him a little bit. I think I just finally understood why he was in the movie. The magician and his daughter seemed unnecessary but they did need people to help them out with their expedition when everyone else left.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. Things were moving too fast and too slow at the same time for me to fully understand. I did laugh out loud to myself when the main guy died. I can't get over the way he fell down the stairs. It was just too funny. I also thought that the burning of the mummy was very dramatic. I think that it was necessary and I loved how everyone fainted after everything was said and done. That got a little laugh out of me.

Toys and Pets

Why?

I needed something to watch and this seemed right up my alley.

What in the world?

A toy teams up with a robot to help send the robot back to the future and to figure out if he ever gets to change colors.

Personal thoughts

This movie was all over the place. I did like the omnipotent one was just a computer, but the way to get to talk to the omnipotent one was crazy. They had to fight toads. I don't know how to properly give context for the omnipotent one because it came out of nowhere. I mean they got this information from a random turtle. The main character was annoying and I wish he would have fallen from a high place and shattered and died. That would have been a nice little twist for my soul anyway not for the movie I suppose.

Score

I have to give this movie a 3 out of 10. Mostly for the movie itself and a little bit because I missed the big fight scene at the end of the movie and walked back to the resolution. I was a tad confused, but I'm sure I still would have been confused if I had seen it. The main character was just the confusing and the robot basically had no autonomy. They could literally just command it to die AND THEY DID! I think. It was basically dying. Oh and at the end they had an unnecessary dance party to the credits. I don't know why that is a thing for kid's movies.
