Why?

I don't know how my mom found this movie but she did. We ended up watching this one together.

What in the world?

A dog, who is actually a human, has to find true love so that he can be uncursed.

Personal thoughts

I hesitate to even write about this movie. I mean it was a really bad movie. I know that might not mean a lot coming from me based on what I watch but this was genuinely up there. The dog was very annoying. I have never disliked a dog as much as I have now. My mom and I both wanted something to happen to this dog. It was almost completely silent in terms of background noise because there was no music. I laughed a lot because I was uncomfortable. If I could go back and stop myself from watching this movie...I don't think I would. I would be very tempted to though.

Final score

I have to give this film a 1 out of 10. I don't like giving films zeroes but this one came so close to that. I think that the only saving graces were the magic pond and the footage of ducks. There was just about as much footage of ducks are there were the main characters of this movie. Thankfully there weren't many main characters but still. Everybody in this movie sucked and I was more than happy to see it end.

Attack of the Crab Monsters

 

Why?

My mom recommended this movie to me and it sounded like a great movie from what she told me.

What in the world?

Some scientists have gone to an island to explore the effects of radiation. They soon become terrorized in the night and have to try and stop the intrusions to their research.

Personal thoughts

This movie was great. I found myself having a lot of fun. A lot of the main characters were highly annoying. There were some random men on the island that were working on blowing parts of the mountain up for some reason. I couldn't quite tell why they were trying to do that. My favorite person had to be the botanist. He honestly had the most interesting lines of dialogue and they did him so wrong. SPOILERS! They get his hand cut off because of a cave-in attempt...and then they kill him less than 10 minutes later. I don't know why they cut off his hand but it made me sad. Justice for the botanist!

Final score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. It was a good movie but none of the good characters lived which was a shame. It also just kind of leaves on a cliffhanger. You're kind of left to your imagination with what happens to the people on the "island". There was some weird flirting going on between two of the scientists. The woman's boyfriend was a different scientist on the island so I thought that was a strange route to go. The crab monsters were fantastic characters though. No notes and no complaints about them. They were just living their lives how they wanted to and I respect that.
