Girlfriendship

Why?

This movie has three friends and we had a friend staying over and we're three friends so it fit the theme.

What in the world?

Three friends want to celebrate a birthday at a retreat but they have been booked for the wrong one.

Personal thoughts

This movie was pretty good. I mean if they got rid of the romance in the movie it would have actually been a really good movie. There were a lot of little plots that they liked to add which was nice but the coolest one wasn't even resolved. One of them wanted to adopt a kid and be a single parent and all that cool stuff but she was only connected to a social worker before the end of the movie. No resolution. Also the love interest for the one girl was really confusing and they didn't really have any chemistry but I guess that's ok.

Score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. The retreat seemed like it would be interesting to go to. Oh the one girl was fighting for a promotion but she kind of didn't do a presentation that made any sense. She wanted to be a finance director but she made a presentation for a new project. I don't know what she thought was going to happen with it but yeah she didn't get the promotion. The maker of the retreat had the best advice. She kept saying, "You are where you're supposed to be." That's my favorite line of a movie right now so yeah.

The Mannequin

Why?

Just the mannequin in the picture looks really weird so I thought that I should try and watch it just to see what it was.

What in the world?

A prototype bails ship and tries to free himself from some space pirates so that they don't kill him. There's really no other plot except space pirates and a prototype trying to be free.

Personal thoughts

This movie was almost 100% a scam. I mean if I had paid money for this I would have been disappointed. I mean don't get me wrong I loved it but it was just kind of weird. I mean the google-generated voices were kind of off-putting but I got used to them after a while. My favorite character died. This always seems to happen when I have a favorite character and I demand that movies stop doing that. It was also like the only character that wasn't auto-generated by Google. It's a sign for the future.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. I could barely tell what was happening half of the time let alone understand what the plot was. Random monsters would just appear out of nowhere and do some stuff while the prototype would just kill them because all creatures are evil or something. I mean the dude even killed a deer who was just "eating" some grass. It looked like he was slamming his head into the ground but I mean all the animation in this movie was jacked. It was worth a laugh though.

Marry me at Yosemite

Why?

It's a Hallmark movie and it was movie night. That's all that really needs to be said. Also, Yosemite is pretty cool. I've never been though so I could be wrong.

What in the world?

A photographer/writer goes to Yosemite to take pictures/make a book and needs a guide to show her around.

Personal thoughts

This movie was very helpful. I learned how to deal with coyotes and bears. I mean that's like two animals that are in my region and I don't go outside often so it's nice to have these little tips once in a while. The movie was pretty standard except this movie felt more like an informational piece than a regular Hallmark movie. I mean the conflict happened real close to the end and it wasn't even that exciting. SPOILER: The guy just sounded too smart so he dumbed down his words. It was very dumb. They also got married at the end but it looked really sad and it happened really fast. I recommend watching that part if you just want to get ideas for what not to have as your wedding. I mean besides the scenery that part was stunning throughout.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. It wasn't special and it felt pretty average. I mean the actors looked the same but I also felt like I was in school. I learned about national parks and the people that were on the land before the parks became parks. I also listened to them namedrop Ansel Adams a lot because the girl wanted to be like him which is cool I guess. I just had never really heard this man namedropped before this movie so it was really interesting to have that happen. The guy was boring. I almost forgot about that. He liked to climb and he lived outdoors. He was a nature guy through and through but never forget that he also liked science. And don't we just all love science!

Barbie: Mermaid Power

Why?

Barbie movies were my childhood and I like to keep tabs on the new ones. I like to see what kind of fever dream I get to watch so here we are.

What in the world?

Barbie and Barbie are both selected by a magic pearl to see if they are the keeper of power for the mermaids.

Personal thoughts

I think this movie was made for money. Hold your gasps I know it's shocking. It barely registered to an hour long which makes me come to that conclusion. Now the movie itself is a completely different story. It is solely a PSA. I swear when the evil shadow was revealed I about lost my mind. I won't spoil it for you but I think you can guess what it was. Also, this is an unofficial sequel to Dolphin Magic I think but nothing from that movie was canon except for maybe the villain character. Other than that it just wasn't canon to the original at all. What happened to my colorful dolphins? Are they all happily married or something? I have no idea.

Score

I have to give this movie a 4 out of 10. The songs were horrendous and of course it was a musical so I was banking on them being pretty good but apparently I was wrong. The one small mermaid couldn't keep a consistent accent the whole movie. That was frustrating but I mean that's ok. Also they all ascended. That sounds weird but you have to trust me. I mean they also got powers but they aren't always mermaids. I mean the movie did end with them being mermaids so maybe that's what they are permanently now. I don't know but they could do a lot more good underwater than above. Because they have powers of course. I'm sure their education at an art school would help humanity just as much as elemental mermaid power. Oh well what do I know.

Spaghetti Man

Why?

After watching Velocipastor, this movie appeared in the recommended and that's the beginning and end of that.

What in the world?

A man gets spaghetti powers and decides to invest in these powers by doing good...for money.

Personal thoughts

I mean this movie was ok. The transitions in it were hilarious and upsetting at the same time. I mean they were just so out of nowhere and they didn't make sense that it was the perfect combination of bad and good transitions. The whole movie was basically almost the perfect combination of good and bad. Granted there were scenes that went on absolutely longer than they actually needed to but I guess that can be said about a lot of movies.

Score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. Part of this score is because it's been a week and I can't really remember it but I remember it wasn't that bad. I mean there were some parts that I found confusing but other than that it was pretty good. I enjoyed the song he sang for a little bit but then it went on too long. Also I guess if you have spaghetti powers you can only enjoy soup. It makes sense though because anyone would be tired of spaghetti if they were in his shoes.
