Love on a Leash

Why?

I don't know how my mom found this movie but she did. We ended up watching this one together.

What in the world?

A dog, who is actually a human, has to find true love so that he can be uncursed.

Personal thoughts

I hesitate to even write about this movie. I mean it was a really bad movie. I know that might not mean a lot coming from me based on what I watch but this was genuinely up there. The dog was very annoying. I have never disliked a dog as much as I have now. My mom and I both wanted something to happen to this dog. It was almost completely silent in terms of background noise because there was no music. I laughed a lot because I was uncomfortable. If I could go back and stop myself from watching this movie...I don't think I would. I would be very tempted to though.

Final score

I have to give this film a 1 out of 10. I don't like giving films zeroes but this one came so close to that. I think that the only saving graces were the magic pond and the footage of ducks. There was just about as much footage of ducks are there were the main characters of this movie. Thankfully there weren't many main characters but still. Everybody in this movie sucked and I was more than happy to see it end.

Attack of the Crab Monsters

Why?

My mom recommended this movie to me and it sounded like a great movie from what she told me.

What in the world?

Some scientists have gone to an island to explore the effects of radiation. They soon become terrorized in the night and have to try and stop the intrusions to their research.

Personal thoughts

This movie was great. I found myself having a lot of fun. A lot of the main characters were highly annoying. There were some random men on the island that were working on blowing parts of the mountain up for some reason. I couldn't quite tell why they were trying to do that. My favorite person had to be the botanist. He honestly had the most interesting lines of dialogue and they did him so wrong. SPOILERS! They get his hand cut off because of a cave-in attempt...and then they kill him less than 10 minutes later. I don't know why they cut off his hand but it made me sad. Justice for the botanist!

Final score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. It was a good movie but none of the good characters lived which was a shame. It also just kind of leaves on a cliffhanger. You're kind of left to your imagination with what happens to the people on the "island". There was some weird flirting going on between two of the scientists. The woman's boyfriend was a different scientist on the island so I thought that was a strange route to go. The crab monsters were fantastic characters though. No notes and no complaints about them. They were just living their lives how they wanted to and I respect that.

Hercules

Why?

The Hulk is Hercules in this movie. What other reason could you need to watch this movie?

What in the world?

Hercules is trying to figure out why he is the way he is and ends up having to stop a crazy cult of Hera.

Personal thoughts

This movie was great. I mean the gods just being in space was amazing. Why are they portrayed as alien type beings I don't know but I love it. The CGI monsters and such looked amazing and unrealistic. I just loved everything about this movie. It just did not care about the original Hercules which makes it a true gem. I mean for crying out loud you give the final boss a flame sword and he does a bunch of spins. What more could you really ask for? There is so much in this movie that I want to talk about but don't want to make this review too long. The women in this movie though could have used a wardrobe change though. They were some of the most scantily clad women I have seen in a movie for a long time.

Score

I have to give this movie a 10 out of 10. This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The mechanical monsters being dropped in from space to kill Hercules is top notch. The way that important people die in this movie is just so anticlimactic that it's beautiful. Zeus saving Hercules as a baby is also just top notch. At the beginning of the movie, there was a whole story about creation. The entire universe being made from an exploding jar is spectacular. Also the four elements being light, dark, fire, and matter is beyond strange and just adds to the beauty of this film.

The bear (slight spoilers)

This scene itself deserves an entire section and nothing less. This happens immediately after Hercules is found as a baby. We get a little "montage" of Hercules growing up and right before anything happens he decides to pull a strange tree out of the ground with his bare hands. Don't ask I have no idea. His dad wanders really far and Hera sends a little challenge for Hercules. That challenge, my dear readers, is a bear. The bear goes after Hercules' dad and we hear a scream. So does Hercules. He runs to his dad, but not before throwing the axe he had in his hands. With no weapons to help him out, he goes to find a bear mauling his dad. Now the only bear shots we get are of this bear's face. It's very close and he's growling. They use that shot every time they want to show that it's a real bear. However, whenever they show Hercules fighting the bear it is clearly a guy in a bear suit. It's one of the best things in cinematic history. After the fight, Hercules realizes his dad has died and he is beyond upset. He picks up the bear he fought and throws it into space. He throws it so hard that it turns into the Big Dipper. If you had a couple of guesses at the beginning of this section, I don't know if you would have guessed that this would happen. This was so good and I am so glad it was a part of the movie. I mean even my dad laughed at this part. It was so beautiful.

The Devil Commands

Why?

I went home for the weekend and this was the second movie we watched. The first movie we watched was actually real and everyone got sad so we did a second movie to cleanse our palettes for the night.

What in the world?

A man's wife dies and he is trying everything in his power to speak to her one last time. He's also a scientist so that helps him a lot with this goal.

Personal thoughts

I thought that the devil might actually be in the movie, but SPOILER the devil does not appear in this movie once. Maybe Mrs. Walters was the devil but then again she ended up dying. The devil might have helped this movie because most of the characters were very unlikeable. The only sane people in the movie showed up very rarely so we weren't left with very much. The main guy has lost his mind just a little and he doesn't even know how to be a person anymore by the time the movie has ended. He also dies though so there's not much more he can do there. He did end up hearing his dead wife say his name so in the end he did a pretty good job even if he accidentally killed a couple of people.

Score

I have to give this movie a 5 out of 10. While it was better than the first movie we watched that night it definitely wasn't the best movie of all time. It was kind of slow moving and that was about all there was to it. I did enjoy his personal assistant that he had lobotomized pretty much. I mean at least he didn't die from the volts of electricity that was pumped through his body. OH when the main guy was trying to speak with the dead, he had 6 (eventually 7) corpses around a table. I don't know why he needed to do that, but those corpses would create a tornado (presumably to the underworld) when his dead-speaking contraption was turned on. That was honestly one of the most interesting things that happened in this movie.

The Devil Bat

Why?

My mom had seen this movie and decided that she wanted me to see it. I happily agreed because the name itself is just amazing.

What in the world?

A doctor/scientist is upset that he can't negotiate and decides to take out those who did him wrong.

Personal thoughts

This movie was amazing. The science for the devil bat was very interesting and made no sense but I loved it. I mean who thought that electrocuting a bat would just make it bigger. I'm not quite sure that he electrocuted the bat though because the electricity effects never touched the bat. The motivation for the murders was so weird. The doctor/scientist (Dr. Carruthers) sold out his compound for cosmetics and was upset that he could have gotten more money or something. I personally don't understand business deals and buying out things so that would have gone over my head regardless of the legality behind it. To murder everyone and their children that bought your compound is a little insane but it is a horror movie. The evil lair of Dr. Carruthers was a little confusing. You have the main lab with an electric room through a door to the left and then you have a hidden passage through a bookshelf. Now that wouldn't be that bad, if that hidden passage wasn't just a hallway to a different hidden passage through the wall. This hidden passage led to his bat room obviously. SO what is the point of having a hidden hallway if the only thing it connects to is a room. I didn't quite understand the architect/Dr. Carruthers motivation behind the lair layout but that's alright. To make the bat go kill the correct people, Dr. Carruthers had a special after-shave lotion that would attract the bat. This part was so weird and perfect because, if I remember correctly, that was the same compound that he sold to the cosmetic people. I hope I remembered correctly because that would be such poetic justice for a horror movie.

Score

I have to give this movie a 9 out of 10. I freaking loved this movie. For being a little over an hour, it was one of the most entertaining movies I have seen in a long time. I didn't find much in this movie to roll my eyes at, but the camera man ("One Shot" McGuire) and the maid were a little annoying to me. The maid didn't speak much through the movie and was just giving me weird vibes. Here is something that bothered me the most and it was only a couple of seconds long. One Shot said he was already part of the Heath family because he was going to marry the maid. Hey buddy that's not how that works. If anything you're marrying an employee of the family not marrying into the family itself. Other than that, I liked all the other characters surprisingly. Dr. Carruthers was my favorite besides the bat, of course.

The Devil Bat

I don't think you understand how much I love this bat. This bat gave me so much joy through the movie that I'm tempted to show it to my friends. When I first saw the bat hanging, I thought it was herbs. Something about the design of the bat just gave herb vibes. I was then told by my mom that it's a bat. This was further shown by the close up shots of a bat's face. This bat was very cute (and clearly not the other bat) and might not have been a bat at all. Let me explain. Almost every time there was a shot of the bat's face, it would make what sounded like bird noises. Is it a bat or a bird? No. It's a devil bat so I think that excuses the bird sounds. When the devil bat would fly around, that is what my mother deemed a flying football. He was a thing of grace and his flying was so unnatural. I love this bat so much!! He would scream as he would attack his victims and that was very weird. The victims did deserve to die because they would just stand there. At least go inside if you see something like that coming right at you. Since the murders were being covered by a newspaper, we would see newspaper articles related to it. There would be a silhouette of a bat on the newspaper that was also clearly not the devil bat. He was just doing his job and he was the shining star of the movie in my opinion.

The Legend of Atlantis

Why?

I was having a night in with my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this movie. I have been watching a lot of real movies lately and I needed a palette cleanser. Thankfully, he let me put it on.

What in the world?

The princess of Atlantis has to stop her royal advisor from taking 4 elemental crystals and becoming all powerful.

Personal thoughts

Movies like this are my bread and butter. I had honestly missed the 2000's style animation and humor that comes with these movies. I found myself really enjoying the random twists and turns that happened. Something that sucks about these movies is the songs. So many unnecessary and bad songs. I really loved the gym bro king that was in this movie. He would just blindly agree with either his wife or his royal advisor and almost killed a random emissary for defying him. The queen of Atlantis has this friend named Delfi or something like that. I don't understand this woman at all. So there is the inside of Atlantis and the outside of Atlantis. Delfi can teleport between the two at the top of this stair pyramid (Don't ask because I don't know). SPOILER!! When the princess gets kidnapped, she sends the love interest to go get her through what I am assuming is the sewer system. Why didn't she just teleport him in and save him the trouble of swimming for who knows how long. I mean she could have saved his arms and his spirit by the end of the trip. Off topic, but that dolphin I chose as the picture for this movie made me cry laughing. I love it's evil little eyes and how goofy it looks compared to every other single thing in this movie.

Score

I have to give this movie a 4 out of 10. I think that it's a pretty middle of the road movie and it could have been worse. I also didn't want most of my rating to come from nostalgia and forget that this thing was 50-ish minutes long with half of it being songs. Some of the jokes were interesting but they weren't notable. Would I watch this movie again...no. Would I recommend it to someone...yes, but only if they are tired. These movies are so much more enjoyable when you are already losing your mind.

Creature Walks Among Us

Why?

My mom and grandma have been watching all the classic monster movies and this week I joined them for it.

What in the world?

A group of scientists go to find the creature and do something with him. I'm not quite sure it was ever specified, but I mean he's the creature so it makes sense.

Personal thoughts

Old movies have a certain charm to them, but this one had a different sort of charm. By that I mean the creature was the only likeable character in this film. The one woman was stupid (1950s so not a shock) and the men were all just awful. The scientists want to put the water creature in a land exhibit and they just think that it's okay. The men frame the creature when he's trying to be peaceful with his sheep and goats (near the end). I hate the men in this movie. The psychologist of the group might have been the only sane one, but even then he made a move on the dead man's wife so ew. I do want to highlight one scene that made the whole thing worth it. There was a mountain lion, cougar, whatever you want to call it just strolling around. It climbs into the creature's enclosure and kills a sheep (rude). The creature is depressed and confused so he kills the mountain lion by SLAMMING IT INTO THE GROUND. That was an amazing scene and was definitely a cut above the rest.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. Yes I am weighing the mountain lion scene very heavily. I mean it was great and definitely did not need to be in the movie. You just have to see it to believe me. Be warned, the pacing in this movie is criminal. So many freaking long scenes of them swimming. We get it, the creature and the scientists can swim. Good for them. OH I almost forgot. There was a scene where the creature was attacking and defending himself and he just pours gasoline on himself. I'm sure he didn't know what he was doing, but it definitely didn't help because he got set on fire. The ending of the movie doesn't make you feel any better about the creature's fate. SPOILER. The creature escapes the enclosure and just goes to the shore and we never see him again because that was the last movie in the list for classic monster movies. WHAT THE HECK! I want to know if the creature will be okay. I don't think he was though and that just makes me extremely sad.

Dear Santa aka My Santa My Dad

Why?

It was a lazy evening and my Mom and I needed something to watch. We didn't want anything too serious so we went on Tubi and found this movie.

What in the world?

A used cars salesman is being a little naughty around Christmas time and is chosen to be a secret Santa by Santa himself. I honestly can't tell you what a secret Santa even fully does.

Personal thoughts

I don't know how to feel about this movie. On one hand, it's amazing and I want to show my friends. On the other hand, it's so slow and weird that I don't want to show my friends. The first part of this movie can be summed up as the beginning of any Christmas drama. Dad is being a workaholic and neglecting his family. Simple. Easy. WRONG. The second half of this movie is a fever dream. He's tied up in a trunk, he's talking to an owl (and it's talking back), and he's delivering toys around the world in Santa's whiplash sleigh (which is a whole other can of worms). The movie does get a little bit of credit for giving the talking owl a fake name, but loses that credit when it's not actually in the credits. Shame on you movie, shame.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. It was only my cup of tea near the very end where nothing made sense and I felt like the writers had taken drugs. They had a character who was wanted in all 49 other states. THEY NEVER SAID WHY. I want to know why and all that runs through my mind are thoughts of what could have been. Other than that, I did not like any of the characters and so many of the side characters had less than 10 minutes of screen time that I just couldn't be bothered when they had little montage credits of themselves at the end.

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze

Why?

My mom had read the book(s) and found out there was a movie. Her and I decided to watch it with the rest of the family.

What in the world?

Doc Savage goes to South America to try and find a civilization of people that his father had bought the land from.

Personal thoughts

I don't even know where to begin with this movie. I mean one of the first things that comes to my mind is the fact that all of his vehicles have Doc Savage on it. I mean that was a very interesting tactic, but he wasn't trying to stay anonymous so that was fine I suppose. Secondly, he has a legit Fortress of Solitude. I think he might have stolen it from Superman, but no mention of DC is in this movie. A hunch is a hunch though. The fortress was in a super realistic igloo so there is a slight variation. Thirdly, something that was so trivial but so vital to my memory of this movie was crib man. His bed was a crib and he was a fully grown adult. It even rocked and everything. Once that scene came on, my family was definitely questioning the seriousness of the movie itself.

Score

I have to give this movie a 9 out of 10. I loved almost every second of it. The pacing was very odd and all of the music was basically marches made by John Philip Sousa (USA of Sousa is in red, white, and blue by the way), but with Doc Savage lyrics so that got old kind of fast. There is so much I want to say about this movie, but so much I also just don't want to give away. I do want to say that the end fight with the main villain of the movie is just amazing and a definitely a must watch. Be careful when you watch this movie, Doc Savage has a lethal twinkle in his eye and you might just catch yourself having a genuinely good time.

Santa Tell Me

Why?

Welcome back to another Hallmark Bingo. I don't think it needs any more explanation.

What in the world?

A house flipper reality show person gets a magic letter from Santa granting a wish from 25ish years ago. She must choose the right Nick or risk losing the love of her life forever. At the same time as this, she is redoing her childhood home for her Christmas special. The three Nicks were probably the fan favorite of the house since they weren't leading other people on.

Personal thoughts

I hate how this movie was actually decent. Everyone that watched it laughed multiple times. My dad was watching it and he laughed a decent amount. He hates these kinds of movies so that was a surprise. The three Nicks had to be a fan favorite. I mean they weren't leading someone on so that helped in their favor. The rest of this movie was watching the lady go on dates with three Nicks. SPOILER!!! There are actually four Nicks.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. It was pretty good, but it was also a Hallmark movie. Hate me all you want, but the acting in the movie was still really bad. The beginning of the conflict was really interesting. I liked that part a lot. Oh! The way that Santa communicated was using the same letter paper, but changing the words on it. That was pretty amusing to see the stupid letter light up and play the same bell sounds all the time.

The Giant Claw

Why?

My mom recommended that my sister and I watch this, but we've just been busy. We finally found the time to watch it so we did.

What in the world?

A giant bird alien is terrorizing the world and only an engineer knows how to save the world from doom.

Personal thought

I can understand why my mom wanted me to watch this movie. One of the things that was a bother was all my favorite characters kept dying. Poor Pete survived a plane crash and then died after sitting up. I mean that's not very nice. The romance in this movie was really strange. I mean it had the two people get together almost immediately. That was pretty strange. It seemed very wrong. I did like the giant bird that was being used. He was just a special kind of ugly.

Score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. It was pretty good, but I don't know. Something felt like it was missing. There were parts that were very slow and draggy. I mean the professor explaining atoms to me was not something that I wanted to watch for 5 minutes. I think I know that atoms make up a lot of things. Other than that though, I highly recommend this movie.

'Tis the Season to Be Irish

Why?

It's that time of the year. Hallmark's annual (way too early) Christmas Countdown. That means we get a whole new arsenal of Christmas movies to do bingo with. This is one of the newer ones that premiered this time.

What in the world?

A house flipper really wants to flip a house in Ireland because of her dead mom. She then starts to fall for the guy who is putting a bunch of restrictions on her house flipping. So nothing super interesting in this one.

Personal thoughts

THIS MOVIE WAS ONE OF THE DULLEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! It had maybe one redeeming quality about the whole thing and that was the lamb that was the whole saving point of the relationship. There was a weird lady who was all over the place and she was trying to spread her husband's ashes WITHOUT HER KIDS!! If I was related to her, I would never forgive her if she actually got around to doing it. There was also this pop star in disguise who sang Danny Boy at the supposed spreading of the ashes. Super insensitive if you ask me. The main guy was horrid at having an Irish accent and if he did have one, you couldn't understand him half the time anyway. The main lady was just boring and didn't really do much.

Score

I have to give this movie a 1 out of 10. The lamb named Lambchop was really the only good thing about this movie. I can't think of anything else to say to describe how boring and pointless this movie was. Not a very strong start to the new year of Christmas movies.

Side Note: The main guy character is actually Irish. This was not immediately evident and that is my fault for not doing a little bit of research.

Enchanting Christmas

Why?

I was casually just looking for something to watch when this movie popped up. I read the synopsis and it was just one of the craziest things I have read in a while so I decided to watch it.

What in the world?

A single ice sculptor is broke and wants to give his daughter a Christmas present. She wants a princess ice sculpture and makes a Christmas wish on it. The ice sculpture comes to life and would you guess that's where it turns into a Hallmark movie.

Personal thoughts

The start of the movie was so much better than the rest of it. Of course she would come to life and not know anything, but it was just so hard to watch. She also had a lot of traits that the kid gave her so that kind of made her just annoying. I mean she was good at math and artistic which are very basic things and they didn't do much with either of those things. The main conflict was that he didn't believe in her. That was crazy. I mean once he found out that his daughter was advocating for some random person claiming to be her teacher to stay at their place it was so valid. The man had every right to be concerned and not believe that she was previously an ice sculpture. He also didn't really care about his daughter too much, but that's neither here nor there.

Score

I have to give this movie a 2 out of 10. I mean the beginning and some other parts were good, but not enough to carry this movie. I mean Santa was in it and he was a janitor so that was cool. He also did magic to a truck. It was like a magic shockwave and nobody noticed. I mean that's crazy. But he was there. He didn't really do much to try and help people honestly he was just there. There was a weird antagonist for a bit who tried to sabotage the ice sculptor because of the main lady. He just thought she was pretty and got jealous. He tried to ruin his main sculpture by turning up the heat. HE COMMISSIONED THAT FOR HIS IMAGE!!! It was a sleigh for the insurance company he worked for. Who hates someone that much that they'd ruin their own reputation. It was a very crazy movie.

The Most Colorful Time of the Year

Why?

When thinking of something to do with my friends, I really wanted to introduce them to Hallmark Bingo. I mean Hallmark is intolerable, but to make it bearable we do bingo. When looking up this movie to get a picture, I did find out that the most colorful time of the year is fall foliage season. So there is that information for you.

What in the world?

While a single mother is giving eye exams to her child's school, she meets her teacher. She finds out through subtle hints that he is colorblind and works to try and fix him. And then we encounter our typical Hallmark movie plots.

Personal thoughts

This movie was freaking awful. The main lady was a villain in disguise and I will not hear anything else on the matter. She is literally trying to cure him of color blindness the entire movie like it's an incurable disease. I mean at one point in the movie, the daughter asks if her mom can cure him. To make matters worse, to cure him, she signs him up for a trial of corrective lenses without his consent. They do not talk about how wrong this is as much as they should have. I mean she does cure his black and white color blindness though with the glasses, but still. They should not have ended up together. I can't even tell you when they realized they liked each other. It just seemed like it sort of happened. Oh, the ex-boyfriend in this movie was super creepy. He would just show up at her house and they would act like it is okay. That was super weird. I think my main personal thought of this movie is the fact that she cured color blindness. I can't get over that.

Score

I have to give this movie a 2 out of 10. I hated almost everything about it. I did like how the main guy actor was when his character got color sight or whatever you want to call it. He acted like most people do when they get glasses for the first time and I feel like that was very realistic. One thing that worries me is that the director of this movie has another Christmas movie related to sight, but this time they are completely blind. I am worried about that one because this one was just so weird. We'll just have to see what happens.

The Dark Past

Why?

This movie came recommended from my mom and it has a lot to do with psychology and I thought it would be interesting.

What in the world?

A psychologist and friends are held hostage by an escaped convict and have to survive the night.

Personal thoughts

I thought this movie was really interesting. The way that the psychologist would talk to the criminal was interesting and it was nice to see the symbolism in the dream. The whole wall conscious thing was cool too and I thought that was interesting because I don't remember learning about it. I did think it was strange that the criminal didn't kill the psychologist because if I were a criminal I wouldn't want to hear what he had to say about my brain and would want to spend my night in silence.

Score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. Sometimes the movie was just really boring and it didn't seem all too interesting. I mean the whole thing was cool and how they slowly worked the way to the root of the problem. The ending was really neat. I liked the way it wrapped everything up and the way that the dad's head appeared on the police faces. My sister did walk in at the end and needless to say she was very confused. Oh! The psychologist had a son and he tried to escape but it didn't work too well. SPOILER!! I thought the kid was a goner, but they don't kill him because he's a kid. Thank goodness!

Time for You to Come Home for Christmas

Why?

I was home for a little bit and we just had to play some Hallmark Bingo.

What in the world?

A single mom goes back home for Christmas and meets a man that is replacing her dead husband as the guitarist for the Veteran's Snow Ball.

Personal thoughts

This movie was pretty boring but it had some good parts. Her kid hit puberty so many times during this movie. His voice changed constantly. First it was high pitched and then it sounded like he was 30 smoking 20 a day. Or maybe just 30. It was very funny. Nothing really happened. The plot of the movie was so small that we almost all missed what the guy was doing. He was just crossing names off a list and we were all really confused.

Score

I have to give this movie a 5 out of 10. For being what it is it wasn't that bad. The main romance was pretty interesting. We all thought that she was going to be mad at him for replacing her husband, but she didn't seem to care. She was fine with it. She also took over her mom's bakery because her mom was selling it. Hooray! She moved back to her hometown at the end. Nobody really cares but good for fictional lady.

Argoman the Fantastic Superman

Why?

Ever since Pumaman, my mom has been trying to create a whole universe of bad super heroes. This guy is our first villain.

What in the world?

A superhero has to stop some evil people from copying world leaders and taking over the world.

Personal thoughts

This movie was kind of boring and the hero wasn't even fun to watch. I mean the guy was a womanizer and it was painful to watch. He brought one of his mistresses to Paris (where the movie takes place). I don't know why he did that. She didn't even do anything. The butler to the guy was more interesting than the actual guy. The villain shows up to his place on accident or on purpose (hard to tell) and sleeps with him because she loses a shooting match. There was also a guy trapped in with a car in his sex dungeon. It was basically a sex dungeon okay. It was a miserable thing to watch as he turned back around when the lady lost the match. His costume is also really ugly, I mean look at the thing. I can't even remember his powers so that's a pity.

Score

I have to give this movie a 4 out of 10. It was painful to watch the guy do anything. He was just brutal for no reason. The bad guys were basically brutally murdered and they were the most interesting part of the movie. At one point, they go to a ball for the rich and kill dignitaries with glow in the dark makeup. I mean the makeup doesn't kill them but Argoman shoots them in the dark. It's okay they were clones not good guys. OH! At the end of the movie, Argoman flees the police. I remember that. What kind of good guy flees from the police after proving themselves innocent!

Fun Fact

The movie can also be found under the name The Paris Incident. I thought I would just throw that out into the universe.

Supersonic Man

Why?

Our family is trying to make our own superhero universe and this goes in with Pumaman.

What in the world?

An alien comes to Earth to save the Earth from villains. He has a human identity and that part kind of confuse me.

Personal thoughts

This movie was so funny. The theme song was really bad. They must have been first time trumpet players because they could not hit one of the notes and it happened multiple times. I think that they should have had someone else write the music. Supersonic (actual name) flying was amazing. He had to change the way he flied every 3 seconds. It seemed pretty effective though. I thought this movie was pretty funny. Supersonic was interesting because he had basically any power under the sun. He could manipulate objects and he also changed objects into different ones. He also flies and has super strength. His only weakness is his ability to echolocate or whatever. He was literally only stopped because of too high of frequencies.

Score

I have to give this movie an 8 out of 10. It was pretty funny and I would definitely watch it again. One of the funniest parts was when he lifted up a construction car of some time and put it down so that a car would explode. The car exploding was so funny because it was really unwarranted. They veered off to the side and then the car exploded. The main character was very strange because he had a bracelet to turn into the hero and he used it (obviously). SPOILER! At the end of the movie, he gives it to the comic relief drunk and he gets taken back to space. First of all, I did not like the comic relief drunk because he just gave off weird vibes. Secondly, I don't understand how that works. Was he always that human or was the bracelet given to him? If he was an alien, why would he be willing to give up the bracelet for a girl? Was it for love? I didn't really get that part.

The Mummy's Hand

Why?

My mom had watched this movie and demanded that I watch it by pitching a quote from my sister. "The Mummy's Hand walked so that the Mummy could run." That had me sold.

What in the world?

An archaeological expedition leads to the discovery of a living mummy that just wants to watch the world end.

Personal thoughts

This movie was crazy. At the beginning, I thought Dave was kind of an idiot about the world. I just didn't know why he was there because I thought that he was just a friend of the main guy, Steve. He is also an archaeologist and that changed how I saw him a little bit. I think I just finally understood why he was in the movie. The magician and his daughter seemed unnecessary but they did need people to help them out with their expedition when everyone else left.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. Things were moving too fast and too slow at the same time for me to fully understand. I did laugh out loud to myself when the main guy died. I can't get over the way he fell down the stairs. It was just too funny. I also thought that the burning of the mummy was very dramatic. I think that it was necessary and I loved how everyone fainted after everything was said and done. That got a little laugh out of me.

Toys and Pets

Why?

I needed something to watch and this seemed right up my alley.

What in the world?

A toy teams up with a robot to help send the robot back to the future and to figure out if he ever gets to change colors.

Personal thoughts

This movie was all over the place. I did like the omnipotent one was just a computer, but the way to get to talk to the omnipotent one was crazy. They had to fight toads. I don't know how to properly give context for the omnipotent one because it came out of nowhere. I mean they got this information from a random turtle. The main character was annoying and I wish he would have fallen from a high place and shattered and died. That would have been a nice little twist for my soul anyway not for the movie I suppose.

Score

I have to give this movie a 3 out of 10. Mostly for the movie itself and a little bit because I missed the big fight scene at the end of the movie and walked back to the resolution. I was a tad confused, but I'm sure I still would have been confused if I had seen it. The main character was just the confusing and the robot basically had no autonomy. They could literally just command it to die AND THEY DID! I think. It was basically dying. Oh and at the end they had an unnecessary dance party to the credits. I don't know why that is a thing for kid's movies.
