The Most Colorful Time of the Year

Why?

When thinking of something to do with my friends, I really wanted to introduce them to Hallmark Bingo. I mean Hallmark is intolerable, but to make it bearable we do bingo. When looking up this movie to get a picture, I did find out that the most colorful time of the year is fall foliage season. So there is that information for you.

What in the world?

While a single mother is giving eye exams to her child's school, she meets her teacher. She finds out through subtle hints that he is colorblind and works to try and fix him. And then we encounter our typical Hallmark movie plots.

Personal thoughts

This movie was freaking awful. The main lady was a villain in disguise and I will not hear anything else on the matter. She is literally trying to cure him of color blindness the entire movie like it's an incurable disease. I mean at one point in the movie, the daughter asks if her mom can cure him. To make matters worse, to cure him, she signs him up for a trial of corrective lenses without his consent. They do not talk about how wrong this is as much as they should have. I mean she does cure his black and white color blindness though with the glasses, but still. They should not have ended up together. I can't even tell you when they realized they liked each other. It just seemed like it sort of happened. Oh, the ex-boyfriend in this movie was super creepy. He would just show up at her house and they would act like it is okay. That was super weird. I think my main personal thought of this movie is the fact that she cured color blindness. I can't get over that.

Score

I have to give this movie a 2 out of 10. I hated almost everything about it. I did like how the main guy actor was when his character got color sight or whatever you want to call it. He acted like most people do when they get glasses for the first time and I feel like that was very realistic. One thing that worries me is that the director of this movie has another Christmas movie related to sight, but this time they are completely blind. I am worried about that one because this one was just so weird. We'll just have to see what happens.

The Dark Past

Why?

This movie came recommended from my mom and it has a lot to do with psychology and I thought it would be interesting.

What in the world?

A psychologist and friends are held hostage by an escaped convict and have to survive the night.

Personal thoughts

I thought this movie was really interesting. The way that the psychologist would talk to the criminal was interesting and it was nice to see the symbolism in the dream. The whole wall conscious thing was cool too and I thought that was interesting because I don't remember learning about it. I did think it was strange that the criminal didn't kill the psychologist because if I were a criminal I wouldn't want to hear what he had to say about my brain and would want to spend my night in silence.

Score

I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. Sometimes the movie was just really boring and it didn't seem all too interesting. I mean the whole thing was cool and how they slowly worked the way to the root of the problem. The ending was really neat. I liked the way it wrapped everything up and the way that the dad's head appeared on the police faces. My sister did walk in at the end and needless to say she was very confused. Oh! The psychologist had a son and he tried to escape but it didn't work too well. SPOILER!! I thought the kid was a goner, but they don't kill him because he's a kid. Thank goodness!

Time for You to Come Home for Christmas

Why?

I was home for a little bit and we just had to play some Hallmark Bingo.

What in the world?

A single mom goes back home for Christmas and meets a man that is replacing her dead husband as the guitarist for the Veteran's Snow Ball.

Personal thoughts

This movie was pretty boring but it had some good parts. Her kid hit puberty so many times during this movie. His voice changed constantly. First it was high pitched and then it sounded like he was 30 smoking 20 a day. Or maybe just 30. It was very funny. Nothing really happened. The plot of the movie was so small that we almost all missed what the guy was doing. He was just crossing names off a list and we were all really confused.

Score

I have to give this movie a 5 out of 10. For being what it is it wasn't that bad. The main romance was pretty interesting. We all thought that she was going to be mad at him for replacing her husband, but she didn't seem to care. She was fine with it. She also took over her mom's bakery because her mom was selling it. Hooray! She moved back to her hometown at the end. Nobody really cares but good for fictional lady.

Argoman the Fantastic Superman

Why?

Ever since Pumaman, my mom has been trying to create a whole universe of bad super heroes. This guy is our first villain.

What in the world?

A superhero has to stop some evil people from copying world leaders and taking over the world.

Personal thoughts

This movie was kind of boring and the hero wasn't even fun to watch. I mean the guy was a womanizer and it was painful to watch. He brought one of his mistresses to Paris (where the movie takes place). I don't know why he did that. She didn't even do anything. The butler to the guy was more interesting than the actual guy. The villain shows up to his place on accident or on purpose (hard to tell) and sleeps with him because she loses a shooting match. There was also a guy trapped in with a car in his sex dungeon. It was basically a sex dungeon okay. It was a miserable thing to watch as he turned back around when the lady lost the match. His costume is also really ugly, I mean look at the thing. I can't even remember his powers so that's a pity.

Score

I have to give this movie a 4 out of 10. It was painful to watch the guy do anything. He was just brutal for no reason. The bad guys were basically brutally murdered and they were the most interesting part of the movie. At one point, they go to a ball for the rich and kill dignitaries with glow in the dark makeup. I mean the makeup doesn't kill them but Argoman shoots them in the dark. It's okay they were clones not good guys. OH! At the end of the movie, Argoman flees the police. I remember that. What kind of good guy flees from the police after proving themselves innocent!

Fun Fact

The movie can also be found under the name The Paris Incident. I thought I would just throw that out into the universe.

Supersonic Man

Why?

Our family is trying to make our own superhero universe and this goes in with Pumaman.

What in the world?

An alien comes to Earth to save the Earth from villains. He has a human identity and that part kind of confuse me.

Personal thoughts

This movie was so funny. The theme song was really bad. They must have been first time trumpet players because they could not hit one of the notes and it happened multiple times. I think that they should have had someone else write the music. Supersonic (actual name) flying was amazing. He had to change the way he flied every 3 seconds. It seemed pretty effective though. I thought this movie was pretty funny. Supersonic was interesting because he had basically any power under the sun. He could manipulate objects and he also changed objects into different ones. He also flies and has super strength. His only weakness is his ability to echolocate or whatever. He was literally only stopped because of too high of frequencies.

Score

I have to give this movie an 8 out of 10. It was pretty funny and I would definitely watch it again. One of the funniest parts was when he lifted up a construction car of some time and put it down so that a car would explode. The car exploding was so funny because it was really unwarranted. They veered off to the side and then the car exploded. The main character was very strange because he had a bracelet to turn into the hero and he used it (obviously). SPOILER! At the end of the movie, he gives it to the comic relief drunk and he gets taken back to space. First of all, I did not like the comic relief drunk because he just gave off weird vibes. Secondly, I don't understand how that works. Was he always that human or was the bracelet given to him? If he was an alien, why would he be willing to give up the bracelet for a girl? Was it for love? I didn't really get that part.

The Mummy's Hand

Why?

My mom had watched this movie and demanded that I watch it by pitching a quote from my sister. "The Mummy's Hand walked so that the Mummy could run." That had me sold.

What in the world?

An archaeological expedition leads to the discovery of a living mummy that just wants to watch the world end.

Personal thoughts

This movie was crazy. At the beginning, I thought Dave was kind of an idiot about the world. I just didn't know why he was there because I thought that he was just a friend of the main guy, Steve. He is also an archaeologist and that changed how I saw him a little bit. I think I just finally understood why he was in the movie. The magician and his daughter seemed unnecessary but they did need people to help them out with their expedition when everyone else left.

Score

I have to give this movie a 6 out of 10. Things were moving too fast and too slow at the same time for me to fully understand. I did laugh out loud to myself when the main guy died. I can't get over the way he fell down the stairs. It was just too funny. I also thought that the burning of the mummy was very dramatic. I think that it was necessary and I loved how everyone fainted after everything was said and done. That got a little laugh out of me.

Toys and Pets

Why?

I needed something to watch and this seemed right up my alley.

What in the world?

A toy teams up with a robot to help send the robot back to the future and to figure out if he ever gets to change colors.

Personal thoughts

This movie was all over the place. I did like the omnipotent one was just a computer, but the way to get to talk to the omnipotent one was crazy. They had to fight toads. I don't know how to properly give context for the omnipotent one because it came out of nowhere. I mean they got this information from a random turtle. The main character was annoying and I wish he would have fallen from a high place and shattered and died. That would have been a nice little twist for my soul anyway not for the movie I suppose.

Score

I have to give this movie a 3 out of 10. Mostly for the movie itself and a little bit because I missed the big fight scene at the end of the movie and walked back to the resolution. I was a tad confused, but I'm sure I still would have been confused if I had seen it. The main character was just the confusing and the robot basically had no autonomy. They could literally just command it to die AND THEY DID! I think. It was basically dying. Oh and at the end they had an unnecessary dance party to the credits. I don't know why that is a thing for kid's movies.
